Event Details
This class is intended for employees working in the construction industry.
A great course for employees at all levels including learning hazard identification and reduction. Many Construction Managers require site Foreman and/or Superintendents to have completed requirements for a 30-hour card in the last 3-5 years. The course focuses on hazard recognition and common mitigation techniques so that employees can minimize risk while performing tasks. While training does not cover OSHA regulations in detail, reference to regulations is identified in each topic section.
Students will learn about their rights to a safe and healthy workplace, employer responsibilities and how OSHA supports worker safety. Students will gain knowledge through personal experience and group exercise led by instructors to identify common solutions to general workplace hazards. Key safety topics include: worker rights under OSHA, Electrical Safety, HAZCOM, Egress & Fire Protection, PPE, Fall Protection, and working with Hand and Power Tools.
Upon completion of the class, students will be able to:
- Properly inspect, wear and care for typical PPE used in construction.
- Read chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Identify common fall hazards and fall protection options.
- Pre-use inspection, selection of temporary electrical cords, hand and power tools.
Students will receive wallet cards within 90-days of completion of all training requirements
