Uptick in OSHA COVID Enforcement Expected in 2021

by | Dec 14, 2020 | Compliance Updates

Several state OSHA plans, including California, have issued emergency standards on COVID-19 infection prevention. Based on these actions and the arrival of a new administration, we anticipate OSHA will be ready to up their COVID enforcement game in 2021.

To date, OSHA has fined over 200 employers (mostly healthcare but some manufacturing) more than $3 million. They also recently released guidelines for ventilation in the workplace. President-elect Biden’s COVID task force has been named and it includes a former OSHA administrator who has pushed for tougher standards.

Safex wants employers to be prepared for any upcoming OSHA changes.
